What Should My Lawyer Do for Me?

At a minimum, your Houston DWI lawyer or attorney should thoroughly discuss your DWI case with you to determine potential problems with the Government’s case. Any competent Houston DWI lawyer or attorney should know more about your case than the Government’s DWI lawyers and atttorneys.

1. Whether the field sobriety tests in your case were given properly,

2. Whether the officer had a legal reason to stop your vehicle and/or to come in contact with you,

3. Whether the police officer that arrested you had probable cause to arrest you,

4. Whether the police officer was properly trained to give the field sobriety tests,

5. Whether the breath test, if applicable, was administered properly,

6. Whether the breath test machine had been calibrated correctly,

7. Whether the video equipment was functioning properly,

8. Whether the officer properly advised you of your rights,

9. Whether the police officer’s report matches the video evidence,

10. Whether the police officer was certified to use the breath test machine,

11. Whether the Government can prove you were intoxicated.
